My Pasta Baby

Does a feeling ever come over you...of pure compassion and tenderness for every living thing and every little piece of life that you have ever experienced? I don't know why this happens, but I wish I could hold onto it. The other day I found myself holding a package of Barilla pasta like a baby in the grocery store, softly patting it as I walked slowly through the dairy section, thinking of how wonderful it was to be able to buy soy milk in a neat little package and how lucky I am to be alive and how I just wish I could find some way to express my gratitude...or someONE to express it to...or someTHING to do to give everyone else a little piece of what I was feeling. Everything seemed almost melancholy in its innocence. If only we could have this perspective all the time.

How do we do that?

QD, It's easy to show your than fullness, just pass it forward. An act of kindness or charity will do. They won't experience the joy the same way you did, but it is a powerful pebble in a pond. Steve

Sounds like you had a Zen moment. I treasure those. They generally involve revolve around seemingly ordinary objects, and always spark spontaneously. Indeed, "wanting a Zen moment" is very un-Zen.

One day at a time.

That's a strange feeling to have in a grocery store. Maybe the smell of all the herbs was getting to you :) But I agree with header97124. Kindness, charity...pass it forward and maybe a small percentage will feel the way you do.

Yep, definitely agree with the other comments. Minus the ecstasy part...
